Blues boss Peter Taylor has paid tribute to Matty Phillips, after the promising youngster signed a one-year contract extension.
The 18-year-old put pen to paper on the deal last week, which will see him remain with the club until at least June 2011.
Phillips is renowned as one of the hottest talents in the Football League and Taylor is delighted to have tied the winger down for a further year.
He exclusively told wwfc.com: "I'm delighted that Matt has extended his stay with the club. He made 21 appearances last season and impressed me a lot but I'm expecting more from him next season.
"He deserves the new deal."
