Adams Park Security battled the soaring temperatures on Saturday, as they continued their excellent stewarding work at the Bucks County Council's first Armed Forces Day celebrations.
Richard Stanford (Stan) and his team were on hand to ensure the safety of the 4,500 veterans, serving forces personnel, cadets and families that attended the event at former Buckinghamshire High Sheriff Sir William McAlpine and Lady McAlpine's Fawley Hill estate.
The invitation-only event was called to honour service men and women of 7 Rifles - recruited from Buckinghamshire and other south eastern counties - fighting in Afghanistan.
Hon. Lady McAlpine said: "The event was a complete success due in no small part to the Wycombe Wanderers stewarding team.
"Traffic was handled so efficiently that I gather most people were kept waiting no more than five minutes. Once on the ground they found the stewards helpful and courteous: still smiling even when soaked by the sudden downpour.
"I think they are a terrific team led by the calm, efficient and good-natured Richard Stanford whose thorough preparation and helpful advice gave me and my team great peace of mind in the run-up and on the day itself. I can only say how very glad I am that they were there."

Joe Bradshaw, assistant clerk to the Buckinghamshire lieutenancy & executive assistant to the chairman of Buckinghamshire County Council, said: "Both Stan and his team of stewards were exceptionally professional in the way
"I was particularly impressed with their friendly attitude to people, also in the way that they reacted to and dealt with difficult situations.
"The overall attitude was low key as befitted the day but professional. Also the way in which once we had established responsibilities Stan took control of his part of the event. The event was a huge success and Stan and his team contributed a lot towards that success."
