VERE LENDS HIS SUPPORT

Posted on: Mon 29 Jun 2009

Derek Vere has lent his support to managing director Steve Hayes, after the Chairboys MD revealed his plans to take control of the club.

The Blues life member, who is managing director of former club sponsors Verco, has urged fans to vote 'yes' to change as the Wanderers prepares for one of the biggest votes in its history.

Vere, former director of the Wanderers and much-loved associate of the club, spoke out in a letter to the Bucks Free Press on Friday afternoon.

It read:

"I believe and trust Steve Hayes

As a long-term supporter, main sponsor for 14 seasons and all round friend of WWFC, I support this man.

It is not often that someone inspires you. This man genuinely does.

I believe he not only is a keen supporter of the team and club, he has the long term future and development of the club very much in focus.

He does this whilst not forgetting the history and heritage - so important for the age we live in.
Steve is a big fan of the club, like me. I am sure he will not fail the town of Wycombe and the WWFC.

This is an opportunity for the town and not to be missed. I fully support his aspirations and vision for the club's future.

I will be voting for the changes proposed and urge every genuine supporter to do the same.

Derek Vere (Managing Director)"

Shareholders are set to vote on the proposals on July 6th.
