The club's promotion to League One has not only reunited the rivalry with Colchester United, but also the derbies with MK Dons.
MK Dons
A semi-final penalty shoot-out defeat to eventual play-off victors Scunthorpe ended the MK Dons' dreams of playing Championship football in the 2009/10 campaign.
In his first full season in football management, Roberto Di Matteo worked wonders with the club's Buckinghamshire rivals and at one stage automatic promotion was well on the cards.
Only a dip in form towards the end of the season and a late surge from Darren Ferguson's Peterborough meant the Dons had to settle for third place, but to be honest that would have exceeded pre-season expectations at stadium:mk.
Granted, the former Chelsea man did have money to spend to strengthen his squad but to guide the Dons to a play-off place in their first campaign after promotion to League One was no mean feat.
Aaron Wilbraham and emerging talent Sam Baldock topped the charts for the Dons last season and if Matteo can fend off interest from Championship clubs for the duo, another play-off challenge could well be on the horizon.
Dons and Chairboys fans will be drawn to the clashes between the pair when the fixtures are announced on Wednesday 17th June and they can expect plenty more of what was on show in the two battles in the 2007/08 season - fight, pride and above all, desire.
