Dan Fitchett has spoken of his delight at being handed a two-year professional deal by the club.
The 18-year-old put pen to paper on the contract late last week that will see him remain with the Blues until June 2011.
'Fitch' told wwfc.com. "I'm over the moon. I've worked so hard over the past few years and it's paid off.
"To be given a two-year deal is fantastic. It shows the club believes in me and that they feel I have potential. I want to repay the faith the club and the manager has put in me."
The former Charlton and Southampton youngster enjoyed a fantastic campaign in front of goal last season, scoring goals for both the reserve and youth team sides.
And with the day-to-day advice and guidance from the experienced members of the first team squad to come, Fitch feels his game will only get better.
He said: "It will be different to being a youth team player, that's for sure. I'm used to watching the first team train but now I'm going to be working alongside them.
"I can't wait to learn even more from the guys and being in and amongst it every day will only benefit me. I'm buzzing to be honest and I just can't wait to get started now."
George Daly, who also signed professional terms recently, tasted first team action under Paul Lambert in the club's 2007/08 season and Fitchett has revealed his desire to repeat the feat of his former youth team compatriot.
He said: "I want to prove myself. If I'm given the chance to show what I can do I will take it with both hands."
Coming up on wwfc.com: News of special deals on hospitality for the club's pre-season friendly with QPR.
