  Hartlepool United

The Wanderers will come face-to-face with the Pools for the first time in three years next season. The last meeting ended in a 1-0 loss for the Blues, a result which saw Hartlepool return to the third tier of English football.

After missing out on promotion in the play-off final to Sheffield Wednesday in the 2004/05 season, Hartlepool couldn't replicate that form the following campaign and were relegated to League Two. However, the arrival of Danny Wilson to Victoria Park would ensure that the Pools didn't disappoint for a second season.

He led the club to promotion back to League One at the first attempt, impressing on the way and equalling the Football League record of consecutive wins without conceding a goal (eight games).

Despite Wilson being sacked in December 2008, the Pools still managed to maintain their League One status, finishing a respectable 15th place.

The Pools hovered dangerously over the relegation zone last year, however survived the drop by one point and finished 19th.

Now with Chris Turner in temporary charge at the club for the second time, the Pools will now undoubtedly be aiming to improve on their last league standing.
