The Blues will be travelling far and wide as they enter League One this year, a fact evidenced by the next side in our introducing series...

A quick glance at the League One table indicates that a 575 mile round trip is on the cards for the Wanderers next season, as they take on  the team that hosted their first ever game in the Football League.

The 2008/09 campaign was nothing if not eventful for the Blue Army, with star duo Joe Garner and Kieren Westwood departing for a combined total of £1.5 million before the summer was out.

It didn't appear to effect matters on the pitch as they won three and drew one of their first four games,  but terrible form in the following months caused the club to dispense with the services of manager John Ward.

Ex-Bradford City defender Gregg Abbott was the man charged with the task of keeping United in the third tier and did so in dramatic fashion, securing safety with a win over Milwall on the last day of the season.
