Blues boss Peter Taylor has secured the services of John Akinde on loan until the end of the season, wwfc.com can exclusively reveal.

The striker initally joined the club from Championship side Bristol City in March and after scoring four goals in five games Peter Taylor has decided to extend the deal until May 2nd.

A further agreement has also been reached, allowing the 19-year-old to play for the Wanderers up until the League Two play-off final on Saturday 23rd May if required.

Akinde opened his account for the club with a brace on his debut away at Brentford, before adding to his tally at home to Barnet and away at Darlington.

Blues boss Peter Taylor said: "John's scored four goals in five games and hopefully he is enjoying his time here. I'm delighted to say that after requesting to extend the deal Gary Johnson (Bristol City manager) has agreed.

"I thank Gary for allowing us to keep John. We know that by continuing the deal to the second month we appreciate that he can be recalled within 24 hours."
