Wanderers chief Peter Taylor has dubbed the Blues final nine games of the season as "massive".

His comments came after Wycombe slipped to only their second home defeat of the season at the hands of Rochdale on Saturday afternoon and Taylor revealed his side will be back in early next week looking to put things right as they work towards the Saturday lunchtime clash with Shrewsbury at Adams Park.

He said: "It was a very disappointing day but we will be in on Monday to talk about it and be very honest to make sure we get it right for next Saturday.

"We would love to have nine highs between now and the end of the season and they are all going to be massive games. Very, very important.

"We've just got to be big, strong and honest. If we do that and get the results right then that will be lovely, as long as we're big, strong and honest. But if we don't get the results then we have to hold our hands up."

Taylor didn't have any complaints with the 1-0 scoreline however, admitting the visitors handled the pressure of the big occasion better than his Wanderers side.

He said: "We didn't seem to show enough bravery on the ball. I watch them train and I'm sure there are managers all over the country that watch their teams and they look different class because they're relaxed but they looked under pressure.

"The lateness of the goal was cruel but I thought Rochdale were better than us. They played a lot of good football and I would have been absolutely delighted with a point with the way we played and the way they played.

"It's just a shame that Marek (Stech) has kicked a poor one at the end and he's been punished because he was outstanding to be fair to him."

The opening 45 minutes was littered with opportunities at both ends and the Blues boss believes the whole complexion of the game would have changed if top scorer Matt Harrold would have found the net after robbing Frank Fielding of the ball on the right touchline.

Taylor said: "We didn't perform anywhere near where we can but saying that in the first half we had a good chance and if that had gone in then things could have been different.

"We should have got something out of Matt Harrold's chance. For me, it's either got to be a shot or a screw back. Matt took too long on that situation."

A positive to take from Saturday was the results from the games involving the rest of the Blues promotion rivals as Bury, Gillingham, Exeter, Shrewsbury and Bradford all dropped points.

The weekend results have left Wanderers 4th, only a point behind 3rd placed Gillingham with two games in hand and Taylor has earmarked the Blues extra games as pivotal if they're to achieve promotion.

He said: "If we're 4th we're 4th but we do have some games in hand. The results went quite well on Saturday which in a way makes me even more frustrated that we didn't get a point."
