Frank Fielding will be reunited with familiar surroundings on Saturday when his travels to Adams Park with one of the Blues' promotion rivals Rochdale.
The 20-year-old spent seven months with the Wanderers during the 07/08 campaign and played a pivotal role in helping equal the club's all-time record of clean sheets in a season.
Fielding returned to parent club Blackburn Rovers following the Blues' exit at the play-off semi-final stage last May and has since had loan spells at League One side Northampton Town and Saturday's opponents Rochdale.
'Frankie' joined Keith Hill's side in January and immediately claimed the number one spot from Sam Russell and is in line to make his 15th appearance for Dale against the Wanderers this weekend.
Fielding told
rochdaleafc.co.uk: "Saturday is a big game for both teams and we will be going there looking to be positive and win the game.
"I played 39 games and made some good friends during my time at the club but that will all be forgotten when it comes to kick-off.
"To be honest I'm not sure what sort of reception the fans will give me but I would hope it will be a good one."
