Wanderers 'keeper Jamie Young believes the club's current impressive defensive showings will help spur on the Blues as they head into an important week at Adams Park.
The Blues host Chester City and Chesterfield in Buckinghamshire on Tuesday and Saturday respectively and 'Youngy' feels the Wanderers need to continue performing well at the back if they are to maintain an automatic promotion place.
Young told
wwfc.com: "Clean sheets spur on the rest of the players. It gives confidence to the other players and if we're hard to beat then that's important.
"People say that you've got to win this game and that game but we need to just play our usual way. When you start putting pressure on yourself you try and force it. If we play well then the results will follow."
Jamie Young hasn't been beaten in any of the last three games since he returned to the side against Dagenham & Redbridge, taking the clean sheet total for the campaign to 17, but the Aussie stopper isn't getting carried away and is remaining focused on hanging onto one thing - the number one jersey.
He said: "I want to play as many games as I can. I don't think about records I just want to be in the team for the next game, the one after that and so on."
Saturday's clean sheet at Morecambe moved the Blues to within two of the club's all-time record and Youngy dedicated the latest one to the team.
He said: "Saturday's clean sheet wasn't just down to me, the back four were awesome in front of me. It was team clean sheet.
"We weren't able to play our usual passing game that we like to play at Morecambe, we did have a couple of hairy moments and maybe the defending didn't look textbook at times but we saw it through and the defence were brilliant."
