PHILLIPS RECEIVED SKY MOM

Matt Phillips was named Sky Sports' Man of the Match for his performance in the draw with Rotherham on Monday.

The 17-year-old offered the Blues an exciting outlet down the right-hand side and in that he caused the Millers left-back Marc Joseph a countless number of problems.

One of Phillips' mazy runs also looked as if it had won the Blues a penalty midway through the opening 45 when it appeared that Joseph had tripped him but the referee waved away the protests to the annoyance of the Blues players, staff and the fans.

Wanderers boss Peter Taylor was happy with the youngster's performance but knows there is still more to come from the precocious talent.

He told wwfc.com: "Matt had some very good spells in the game. I don't think he started particularly well, he looked a tad nervous, but all of a sudden he was causing their left-back problems.

"He also did that very good thing in the second half when he got to the by-line before picking out Matt Harrold, we see that everyday in training with him but we want to see if more in matches."
