'LET'S FIND MONEY FOR NEW PLAYERS'

The club's new chief executive officer Mark Ashton rounded off a hectic first day at Wanderers by telling fans: 'I want to generate the income that will help Peter Taylor improve his squad.'

Mr. Ashton began his new job on Thursday and following a series of meetings with the staff at Adams Park, he was introduced to the club's investors and shareholders.

He told them: 'I'm delighted to be here. I see this job as a great opportunity to help move the club forward. I want to find ways of reducing our debt and increasing revenue so that the manager has the ability to bring in better players.

'When I was at Watford we achieved promotion to the Premier League on the lowest playing budget ever and we also redeveloped part of the stadium. The local community was at the core of everything that we did and that's what it should be like at every football club.'

Mr.Ashton also allayed fears that his role as a non-executive director at London Wasps could compromise his new job at Adams Park. 'I don't see it as a problem at all' he told shareholders. 'In fact, quite the opposite. I think it will help to have a foot in both camps.'

We'll have an in depth interview with the new C.E.O. next week on Wanderers World and if you're not yet a subscriber, don't worry - you can watch it free of charge! Click here for more info.
