Wycombe welcomed back a familiar face into their ranks on Thursday and after he completed his move Luke Oliver revealed it was a privilege to be back at the club.

Oliver was a product of the Blues' youth team and after impressing the then manager Lawrie Sanchez the centre-back played 18 months as a professional, before Tony Adams decided to release the defender in February 2004.

And the 6ft 8" centre-half also has a connection with current Blues boss Peter Taylor after they worked together at Stevenage Borough.

After signing his 18-month deal with the Blues, Luke exclusively told wwfc.com: "It's a priviledge to be back, I'm delighted to have the opportunity to come back into the league and at a great club in Wycombe.

"I'm really looking forward to it. The side are top of League Two, there wasn't any doubt in my mind to take this opportunity.

"Now I need to work hard on the training field and try and get in the team."

Luke looked back on his previous time with the club with fond memories even if one of those was being put through his paces by Terry Evans.

"I remember doing a lot of running, Terry Evans was the fitness coach at the time and he was a bit gruelling on us! I had good times during my time, really enjoyed it, and hopefully there will be more to come this time around."

And Taylor's new recruit has no doubt that he will settle into what already is a very close-knit Wanderers squad.

He said: "I'll get used to it, give it a couple of weeks and I'll know everyone by then and it's just a case of cracking on."

Luke could be involved in the Blues' Community Game with Accrington Stanley on Saturday - to buy tickets call 01494 441118. For more info on the day click here.
