Just hours after sealing an extension to Angelo Balanta's loan deal from Queens Park Rangers until February, Wanderers manager Peter Taylor has revealed to wwfc.com that he hopes to keep fellow striker Simon Church at Adams Park for the rest of the current campaign.
The 20-year-old joined the Blues on an initial one-month loan contract from Reading in August and returned to the club for an extra two months in October in a deal which will expire after this weekend's trip to Shrewsbury Town.
However, Taylor admits that the Championship side may be reluctant to allow the Wales Under-21 international to leave on a long-term deal as they look to win promotion back to the top flight:
He said: "He's a good professional and a good player. I'd love to have him until the end of the season but I respect his club and I understand they may not want to let him join until then."
Church has played eight times for the Wanderers and recently returned to first-team action after breaking a hand ahead of the FA Cup tie with AFC Wimbledon last month.
Stay tuned to wwfc.com for all the build-up ahead of the clash with Shrewsbury on Saturday.
