Blues boss Peter Taylor has lavished praise on Angelo Balanta following the forward's sparkling debut in the Wanderers' 1-0 win over Bradford City at Adams Park.
The on-loan QPR forward replaced Lewwis Spence at half-time and Balanta played a pivotal role in helping the Blues beat a Bradford side who were tipped by many at the start of the season to win League Two.
Peter Taylor was delighted with the impact his new signing made in the 45 minutes he was on the pitch and told wwfc.com: "It was hard on Lewwis Spence to be subbed, it was nothing to do with his performance - I just felt we needed a change in shape.
"We hope to keep him (Angelo Balanta) for at least two months, but it's in Q.P.R's hands now. He's 18, he hadn't really got to know the boys yet which is why he didn't start. But given the way he performed when he came on, maybe he should have been on from the start."
And although this was Balanta's debut for the Blues Taylor had seen enough in training in the lead up to the game to know what a superb young player he had signed.
He said: "I've only worked with him for two days of training but I've been very impressed. He has tremendous awareness, the lads were laughing in training because they couldn't believe the amount of time he gives himself on the ball."
