He said: "It's going to be a tough place to go and it's down to attitude again. A lower league club like themselves will step their game up so it's going to be down massively to our attitude and the way we prepare."
The Blues' game with the Wombles at Kingsmeadow on Monday evening is live on Setanta Sports and 'Shears' is hoping the club's excellent league form, which currently sees them the only unbeaten side in English football, can help them overcome their Conference South opponents.
The 27-year-old said: "As we do for every game, we will prepare right and worry about ourselves. We'll take Monday as it comes."
Shears also revealed that he is delighted that the FA Cup is back, picking out the giant killing aspect as the main reason why the competition is renowned as one of the most popular in the world.
He said: "It's just the hype about it. It's a fairytale; everyone thinks they can do well and that they can become this season's giant killers. We've just got to make sure that doesn't happen to us."
