BOSS RESPONDS TO SCOTTY RUMOURS

Peter Taylor has played down rumours of a rift between himself and last season's leading scorer Scott McGleish after the striker was dropped to the subs bench for Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Barnet.

"I don't have a problem with Scotty," the Blues boss told wwfc.com. "I always pick the team that I think can win us the game and if that means disappointing certain players then so be it. I also left Lewwis Spence out on Tuesday night and John Mousinho didn't make the starting eleven against Darlington last Saturday. I'm sure they were equally disappointed."

McGleish was fined and dropped earlier this season after his angry reaction to being substituted against Brentford.

Said Taylor: "No one is too important to be left out. It's a long season and we have a big squad who are all desperate to be involved. If I feel that certain players are better suited to helping us win a particular game then I will pick them, it's as simple as that."

He added: "We have a wonderful spirit in the camp and that has helped us to stay top of the table. I won't let anything - or anybody - spoil that togetherness. We are in this as a group, not as individuals.

"If Scotty is still upset about being left out on Tuesday night then perhaps it's best if he doesn't travel up on Saturday."
