TAYLOR SEES ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT

Scott McGleish's last gasp penalty may have earned the Wanderers a point in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Darlington at Adams Park but Blues boss Peter Taylor was far from happy with his side's performance as they came within seconds of their first league defeat of the campaign.
A goal from the Quakers' Jason Kennedy early in the second half looked to have ended the only unbeaten record in the Football League before McGleish sent waves of relief around Adams Park with his late leveller, but Taylor feels his team were lucky to rescue a point:
"We got away with it today," he told wwfc.com after the game. "The players have been magnificent all season but today we dropped our standards a bit and Darlington were better than us.
"We didn't deserve it and it was nice to see a few heads nodding in agreement in the changing room when I said they'd let their standards slip because they know they let themselves down today. Now we just have to learn from it."
Dave Penney's side travelled to South Bucks on the back of a strong run of results and stifled the home team's attacking threat for the majority of the match, prompting Taylor to bemoan Wycombe's lack of creativity when in possession:
"We played nervously and I think there were too many players taking the easy option and going for the long ball. They need to be a bit more composed and play the ball about better than they did today."
And Taylor was also disappointed to see the Blues collect their third red card of the campaign so far when Chris Zebroski was sent off for violent conduct following a tussle with the Quakers' Tim Ryan, who was also given his marching orders:
"I don't like sendings off and it's going to start costing players because if they're not playing then I don't see why they should get paid. You don't want to get too many injuries and suspensions but unfortunately that's what we've got."
One positive to draw from the match was the performance of Scott McGleish, who has had to settle for a place on the bench in recent weeks but rewarded his manager's decision to give the striker a starting role by grabbing the equaliser:
"Scott has shown a good attitude since his return and I think there's still more to come from him," Taylor added.
Peter Taylor will be a guest on 'Goals On Sunday' on Sunday morning, which starts at 11am on Sky Sports 1.
