Peter Taylor has paid tribute to Ian Culverhouse after the former assistant manager left the club to join Colchester United on Friday to link up with ex-Blues boss Paul Lambert.

'Cully' joined the Wanderers as youth team manager in 2005 and later went on to perform duties as head coach and assistant to Peter Taylor before deciding to make the move to the Essex club following the managerial appointment of Lambert last week.

"He's a good fella and has given the club tremendous service," Taylor told wwfc.com after Saturday's 1-1 draw with Grimsby. "He's a very good coach and he's been given a great opportunity at Colchester so we wish him the best of luck."

Taylor added that he will consider whether or not to find a replacement for Culverhouse in the next few days and played down fears that several of his players might be joining Lambert at the Weston Homes Community Stadium:

"I've got no worries whatsoever that any of my players will be going anywhere unless we receive an unbelievable offer," he declared. "We're trying to have a very good season here and you can't do that by letting your best players go."
