Peter Taylor has stated that he was very impressed with the way Scott McGleish reacted to being left out of the starting line-up on Saturday.

McGleish played the final 20 minutes as a second half substitute in the 3-1 win over AFC Bournemouth and the striker's performance and goal has certainly given the manager food for thought ahead of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy second round tie with Shrewsbury at Adams Park on Tuesday night.

The Blues boss told wwfc.com: "I was pleased with Scott McGleish, he showed tremendous attitude all day.

"He took not starting the game on the chin and I thought when he came on he did very well for the team and personally for him I was delighted he got a goal."

The Wanderers boss started with a 4-3-3 formation in the victory over the Cherries at the weekend but reverted to a 4-4-2 when McGleish replaced Lewwis Spence on 70 minutes and despite all four forwards performing well on Saturday, the gaffer already knows who will start up top when they come up against Paul Simpson's Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday.

He said: "I haven't got a selection dilemma up top for Tuesday, it's quite easy for Tuesday."

Don't forget Season Ticket holders, U16s and BluesCard members can watch the game with the Shrews for free on Tuesday night - for more info click here.
