Matt Harrold has revealed to wwfc.com that he feels there are plenty more goals to come from him after opening his account in the Blues' 3-1 win over Bournemouth.

The 24-year-old, who was signed by Peter Taylor on transfer deadline day from Southend, not only scored five minutes before the break in the victory at Adams Park but also played an integral role in helping the Blues regain top spot in League Two.

He said: "It's a good feeling to get my first goal for the club, I was a bit disappointed not to score in any of the four games I've come on in, but delighted to get going and a lot of relief as it's been a couple of hard years.

"The last two years haven't been the happiest of times for me on the pitch, not playing and getting stick off the fans but that's all behind me now.

"So it was especially nice to get the first goal as it sent us on our way to a win over a good side in Bournemouth."

Harrold has been used as a sub for the Wanderers by Peter Taylor since joining the club in August but after getting his chance to start against the Cherries the frontman is determined to keep his place.

"We have a lot of options up front, but that's only a good thing. Top of the league with options is exactly what the manager wants."

The 6' 3" target man is enjoying life at Wycombe but admits he's found it easier to settle into his new surroundings due to the side's great start.

He said: "It's been good; it helps when you're top of the league and the team are doing really well.

"Luckily enough we've managed to keep it going and hopefully we can keep the run going even longer."

And although the striker was named man of the match at Adams Park he believes he can improve further on Saturday's performance when he is fully match fit.

He said: "There is definitely more to come from me. In the second half I was blowing a bit but I was really happy to get nearly 90 minutes under the belt and that's what I needed to be honest. Hopefully that will stand me in good stead for the future."
