Wanderers manager Peter Taylor has told wwfc.com that he was delighted with the way his side responded to a shaky opening period, after their 3-1 victory over Bournemouth at Adams Park.

The Blues struggled to get into the game in the first half hour, as the visitors dominated possession and gave their 746 travelling fans something to cheer.

"I thought we were poor in the opening thirty minutes, but in the last quarter of an hour we were excellent," said Taylor.

"Bournemouth are a very good team who are going to pick up a lot of points but we deserved to get a goal, as we had a lot of possession in the last quarter of an hour."

The Wanderers were caught napping as Danny Hollands rocketed home an equaliser just before the hour mark, but a brave hearted display from the likes of Chris Zebroski and Matty Phillips ensured that the Blues soon regained the lead.

"I wasn't very happy with the opening stages of the second half, but that's where I can only applaud the boys because with their spirit and character they don't want to back down," continued Peter.

"I'm pleased for Matt Harrold, he lasted longer than I thought he would, he played the position really well and I'm delighted he got the goal. He really did play well for the team."

Bury's remarkable draw with Aldershot Town means that the Wanderers sit pretty at the top of League Two on Saturday evening, though the ex-England manager is sure that such success wont affect his players in any way.

"The lads are sensible with things like that, we're on a good run and we just need to work hard, prepare well and keep it going," he said.

"We've got another game on Tuesday night and all minds will be focussed on Shrewsbury Town."
