Wycombe Wanderers are the first club in the country to respond to the credit crunch by offering fans free football.
Our game against Shrewsbury Town next Tuesday will be free admission to season ticket holders of both clubs, members of Wycombe's loyalty scheme and children under the age of 16.
Said Managing Director, Steve Hayes: "Many of our fans are struggling to find the money to watch us at the moment. This is our way of helping them and saying thank you for their support."
The Football League and Shrewsbury have both given their approval to the idea and the game - in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy - will kick off at the earlier time of 7.00pm to encourage youngsters to attend.
Wycombe's progressive approach towards supporters has already earned the club several accolades. We are League Two's Family Club of the Year, won a Family Excellence Award from the Football League and only last week were voted Customer Service team of the Year by the leisure and tourism industry.
Football League commercial director Stewart Thomson said: "Wycombe have set the standard for all our clubs with these awards and we want to use their success as a case study to assist others."
The League's marketing manager David Malkinson added: "Wycombe are a fantastic example of how clubs are delivering an excellent match day experience."
