ANOTHER BYE FOR THE BLUES

Posted on: Thu 11 Sep 2008
By Ross Jeavons
The Blues have picked up their second bye of the season, progressing straight to the quarter-final of the Berks and Bucks Cup.

The previous year's County Cup finallists are not required to partake in the first round of the historic competition, and so the Wanderers will now play their second-round fixture in the week ending the 23rd January 2009.

The Chairboys will play at home against either Didcot Town or Thatcham - it is yet to be confirmed whether or not the game will be played at Adams Park.

Wycombe lost out at the final hurdle of the competition in the last campaign, falling to a 3-0 defeat  to Chesham United at the Meadow.

Wycombe have won the competition a record 26 times, the last occasion being back in 2006 when Steven Gregory lifted the trophy (pictured top right).

Peter Taylor's side have already picked up one bye this season, as they jumped straight to the second round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
