Minutes after the Blues went top of League Two following their 1-0 win over Rochdale on Saturday, Mike Williamson exclusively revealed to wwfc.com that the team will continue to improve as they get ready to host Brentford and Dagenham & Redbridge in their next two games.

'Willo' said: "It's always nice to be top of the table, it doesn't mean a great deal at the moment as there are over 40 games to go, but it's been a very good start.

"We will keep aiming to get better and we are now looking forward to the two games at Adams Park."

The win at Spotland means it's the club's best ever start to a league season, something the team will be looking to improve on next weekend when they entertain 6th placed Brentford at Adams Park.

And not only did the sixth different Blues player get on the scoresheet this campaign in the shape of Chris Zebroski, but the Wanderers' defence kept their fourth consecutive clean sheet in a row after another colossal performance from Williamson and co.

The clean sheet means that Peter Taylor's men are currently the joint best defensive team in the country for goals conceded and that's including the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool.

The 24-year-old said: "It's a pleasure to play alongside the rest of the lads without doubt, but what is really pleasing is that we are defending collectively well as team right from Scotty (McGleish) up top to Shears (Scott) at the back."

The centre-back's first goal in over a year secured all three points at Chesterfield last weekend and 'Willo' was largely involved this time around as Chris Zebroski netted his first goal for the club at Spotland.

He said: "I got my head on a few crosses and one of the headers I managed to knock down caused problems and Chris and we as a team were able to benefit from it. If you hang it up I've always got a chance to get my head on it."

And there will be more reaction to come on the Blues going top right here on wwfc.com as we reveal what Chris Zebroski said after scoring his first for the club.
