Wanderers boss Peter Taylor was a happy man on Saturday evening after seeing his side continue their unbeaten start to the league campaign with a 1-0 win over Lincoln City, and said that he was thrilled with the way the Blues performed from the first whistle.

The home side raced out of the blocks and exerted heavy pressure on the Lincoln goal in the opening 30 minutes, in which Craig Woodman scored his first goal for the club, and the 'gaffer' said it was a vast improvement on last week's sluggish start against Chester City:
"I'm very pleased," he buzzed. "We started today's game exceptionally well and there were plenty of positive signs. We had words after last week's game because I don't think we deserved to be winning at half-time at Chester but we took that on board and started very well today.
"I think we've done some good things in certain spells of all our matches so far and the lads have shown a lot of quality at times. I'd say there was a spell in the second half today where we were a bit disappointing but I'm always looking for the best and we deserved to be leading because of the way we played."
Taylor added that he refused to get carried away after seeing his side take the lead, having watched Morecambe punish the Blues for not extending a one-goal advantage a fortnight ago, but says his exciting youthful team have plenty of potential to keep on improving:
"I thought we needed that second goal because it might have relaxed the boys a bit more and you're always a bit nervous when there's only one goal in it.
"I still maintain that we'll be better in two months time but the signs are really positive so far. I asked a lot of people about what happened last season and watched a lot of videos and I felt we needed to bring in more athletes to give us a few more options going forward and it's working well for us."
Scottish midfielder Gary Holt returned to the squad after recovering from an injury sustained two weeks ago but was forced to look on as Tommy Doherty and John Mousinho put in another eye-catching performance in the centre of the park, and Taylor once again paid tribute to the hard-working pair:
"John had his best game against Chester so he didn't deserve to be left out today. Nobody's guaranteed a place in the team straight away and that's the sort of competition I want - everyone has to fight for their place.
"Tommy Doherty was outstanding again and it's got to the point where you're disappointed if he gives the ball away once - that's the type of quality he's got. Hopefully he's enjoying playing with the athletic lads we've got in the team because when you've got Nathan Ashton, Gavin Grant and Chris Zebroski making the runs forward, he can just put the balls into space for them to run on to."
Meanwhile, Lincoln boss Peter Jackson said he was unhappy with his side's first half display, particularly as the Imps had travelled down to Wycombe on Friday to ensure the best possible preparation for the game:
"I'm disappointed," he said. "We spent a lot of money coming down here last night but for the first twenty minutes we looked like we were still in the hotel. We did okay in the second half and caused them more problems but our keeper kept us in the game and I think Wycombe played a lot better than we did.
