Blues midfielder Lewwis Spence is looking to help the Wanderers collect their first home win of the campaign as Lincoln City arrive at Adams Park on Saturday, and hopes to impress the Wycombe faithful once again by finding the net as he did against Morecambe a fortnight ago.
Lewwis speaks to World
The former Crystal Palace youngster announced his arrival on the scene in style with a superbly struck effort on the opening day of the season but believes he and his team-mates will have to work hard to collect a second successive win after beating Chester City last week:
"I got my first career goal against Morecambe which was a big positive for me and I'm sure there's more to come," he told
Wanderers World. "Obviously my main aim is to play consistently in the first team but if I keep working on my performances then the goals will come.
"Lincoln will be a good test for us. Even going to Chester, who had conceded eleven goals in two games, was never going to be easy and even though Lincoln haven't got off to the best start, they'll be looking to turn things around."
The 20-year-old had no hesitation signing for Peter Taylor's new-look side in the summer having worked with the former England coach at Crystal Palace last season, and Spence is enjoying learning from the 'gaffer' and playing alongside his new team-mates:
"In training he always tells you he's got faith in you which helps a lot," he said. "There's a fun element at the end of every session which is great because you don't want to come into training every day thinking you'll be working hard defensively all the time; you need a release sometimes.
"All the boys are getting to know each other and training's a lot more positive now which means we're getting more out of it, so hopefully we can performances on the pitch as well."
