After notching up his first win as Blues boss at Chester City on Saturday Peter Taylor told wwfc.com that he was happy with the way his players reacted to the defeat to Birmingham in midweek.
He said: "I talked to the players about Birmingham because I felt we let ourselves down on Wednesday. I didn't like us in the first half and didn't think we particularly deserved to be 1-0 up. We were better and more professional in the second half and could have been more than 2-0 up so there's more to come.
"It's very important to get the first win and I'm sure we'll be a better team in three months. If we can have a decent run before then, that'll help us because we can get better.
The 'gaffer' revealed it was good to get his first win as Wanderers boss so early in the season and he also declared he was very impressed with the Blues' second half performance.
Taylor said: "It's a case of job done. It wasn't an easy game and we knew it would be tough because they finished well against Leeds.

"The attitude and togetherness was good from our point of view today and what also was pleasing that at the end of the game we looked fit, quick and athletic and looked like we could still score another goal.
"In the second half we were solid; their front three were decent and needed watching. I was very pleased when I got the nod that McCracken could play.
The 55-year-old was also quick to praise striker Scott McGleish after the 34-year-old scored his 200th career goal from the penalty spot with just over 20 minutes left:
"Scott McGleish scored a really good penalty and he was unlucky with the header - I think he headed it too well."
