Wanderers boss Peter Taylor has taken his summer signings to seven following the capture of Fulham youngster Nathan Ashton, wwfc.com can exclusively confirm.

The 21-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the Blues and a nominal fee will be owed to the Premiership side based on appearances Nathan makes in the Wanderers first team.

Ashton has represented England more than 30 times between the ages of U16s and U20s and Peter Taylor has told wwfc.com he is delighted to have the left-sided player on board

"We needed to replace Serg (Torres) and Nathan fits the bill perfectly. He's an attacking minded left-footed player whose got bags of energy and he can get up and down the pitch very well.

"He's got a terrific left-foot and he needed to play league football. At the age of 21 he needs to be playing regularly."

Ashton follows Lewis Hunt, who signed on a free transfer from Southend yesterday, to the club and the duo are both currently on a mini pre-season tour in Essex with Peter Taylor and the rest of the Blues squad.
