Wycombe Wanderers are delighted to announce that club stalwart Matt Bloomfield has pledged his future to the Chairboys, by agreeing a new two-year deal with the Blues.

The deal is set to be finalised by the end of the week, after the Suffolk born midfielder reached a verbal agreement with the club.

'Blooms' is currently Wycombe's longest serving player, having joined from Ipswich Town back in 2003.

Now approaching his sixth season at Adams Park, the popular midfielder has told wwfc.com that he is happy to show his commitment to the side.

"I'm happy to have signed and to get my future sorted so now I can concentrate on getting fit without worrying about contracts," he said.

"The gaffer's been brilliant - he says he wants to get me fit, he's seen videos of me playing so he knows all about me. I never wanted to leave, I never asked for anything unreasonable and I just wanted to get it sorted."

Matt has made 177 appearances for the Wanderers, donning the shirt in a Playoff semi-final against Cheltenham Town and a League Cup semi-final against Chelsea.

Currently sidelined with a knee ligament injury, the 24-year-old is setting his sights on a return to action around the New Year.

Keep it wwfc.com later today as we take a look back at Matt's career so far.
