Wycombe Wanderers have made their fifth signing of the summer, in the form of Brazilian forward Magno Silva Vieira. The 23-year-old has agreed a one-year deal at Adams Park, which could be extended by a further year depending on appearances.
The young South American first came to Britain to join Wigan Athletic back in 2003, upon recommendation from Brazilian legend Jairzinho.
Loan spells at Carlisle and Northampton followed and it was with United that Vieira really made his name, scoring ten goals in twenty-six league starts and playing a key part in the Cumbrians' promotion to the Football League in 2005.
Magno, who was born in the city of Brasilia, then went on to join Barnet in 2006.
He spent much of last season on the books of Crawley Town before completing the campaign with a short loan spell at Cambridge United.
Blues boss Peter Taylor said: "He comes to us as a winger and a striker really, he's an all out attacking player. Even though he has played at a different level, I think he's used to scoring goals and he's hungry. He wants to do well and because of that I believe he will do well."
With the start of pre-season training just hours away it won't be long until the 'gaffer' can finally see his new boys in action, and the ex-Southend boss is sure that he will learn lots more about his new charges over the next few days.

"What I've tried to do is look at the different areas where we need to improve, we need to score more goals and having looked at the squad of last year I don't think we had enough pace. That's why I've brought in players like Magno."
"I honestly won't know if anything else needs strengthening until I see them all tomorrow, and take a look at our pre-season games. I am looking forward to getting started. I think they will be a good bunch - we will be getting on with our jobs and hopefully we'll do well."
