Wanderers manager Paul Lambert told wwfc.com after the game that he was pleased to see his side battle back for a point after Peterborough looked to have sealed the points in an entertaining encounter at Adams Park.
Scott McGleish's last-gasp penalty ensured Wycombe collected a share of the spoils in an enthralling battle which had seen the Posh turn the game on its head with strikes from George Boyd and Liam Hatch after Stefan Oakes had put the Blues in front.
"I'm delighted that we came back," Lambert said. "Peterborough are a top side who will get promoted but we competed with them and I thought we were excellent."
"Our first half performance was as good as I've seen for a long time and we looked really threatening; we definitely didn't deserve to lose and the lads were never going to throw the towel in."
The game was not without controversy as Posh boss Darren Ferguson felt that the penalty shouldn't have been given, while Liam Hatch's headed goal was also questionable after an alleged push by Chris Westwood:
"Our players felt there was a push for their second goal and they had a stroke of luck with their first so we were unlucky to concede two goals, but I'm not going to complain."
The 'gaffer' added that he never had any doubts that Scott McGleish would convert the spot-kick in the final minute, but the nerves seemed to have got the better of a member of his coaching staff:
"It's never easy hitting penalties at any stage in the game but I was confident he'd score. It's horrible watching penalties and Ian Culverhouse turned away, but I watched it all the way."
