What Leon Knight lacks in stature he makes up for with ambition, and the 5'5" arrival from MK Dons told Wanderers World that he's here to score the goals to take Wycombe into League One:
"I'm really happy to be here and now I just want to get my head down and start hitting the back of the net," he said. "If I get chances to score goals then I'll take them - that's what I'm here for and hopefully I can help the club climb the table."
The 25-year-old joins the club with a fantastic goalscoring pedigree, having scored 81 career goals from 227 starts, and ends Paul Lambert's search for a third striker to provide competition for the on-form Scott McGleish and John Sutton:
"The deal's taken a few weeks but I'm happy that it's now sorted," Knight said. "The manager here is really ambitious and I've spoken to a few players who have told me it'll be a good opportunity for me so now I'm hoping to do what I know I can do.
"I don't know too much about Scott and John but their names have been on the scoresheet a lot recently, and if I can add to that then we should be okay," he added.
It might come as a surprise to some supporters than MK Dons have allowed a striker with such an excellent reputation to join a promotion rival, and Knight is looking to help his new employers battle it out against his former club:
"I wasn't playing much at Milton Keynes and I had been out of the team for a month," Leon said. "They're top of the league but they're there to be caught, and Wycombe have been climbing up the table recently so hopefully we can get within touching distance of them.
"League Two's a difficult division to play in sometimes but it helps when you've got good players around you. It's a 100mph league and it's more of a scrap, which is why we want to get up to League One where there's a bit more composure."
Knight will be looking to break into the starting line-up as soon as possible, but might find it hard to displace the current front pairing of Scott McGleish and John Sutton, who have been on excellent form lately. However, Knight added that he is capable of playing wide if required:
"I like to play upfront but if I'm not scoring goals then I've got to contribute somehow, which means I can move out wide and create chances. But my main objective is to score goals.
"The manager hasn't given me any targets as such but he's just said I should get my head down and work hard. He told me I'll have great days and off days and hopefully I'll score a lot of goals for the club."
