BLUES BOSS ON EASTER RUMOURS
By Alan Parry
Wanderers manager Paul Lambert has hit out at rumours that star striker Jermaine Easter is unsettled and wants to leave Adams Park.
A newspaper report in Swindon quoted Easter as saying: " If Swindon put in an offer that Wycombe accepted then I would definitely speak to them.
Swindon is a club that's going places and I would be interested." But Lambert countered today: "We've already had an offer from Swindon for Jermaine and their bid was turned down flat. Steve Hayes (managing director) described Swindon's offer as ridiculously low and I agree with him."
Wales international Easter, the Blues top scorer with 24 goals last season, has repeatedly assured fans that he is happy at Adams Park whilst admitting that he also has ambitions to play in a higher division one day.
Said Lambert: "Jemma is just like any other player in that he wants to test himself at the highest level that he can reach. He proved in last season's Carling Cup run that he can score goals against Premiership defenders and that he's good enough for international football so I think he has his sights set higher than League One."

The Blues boss went on: "I've spoken to Jemma about the situation and he appreciates the club's position. He has accepted the situation like the good professional he is and there's been nothing wrong with his attitude in training and in the games he's played so far.
I've said all along that I don't want to lose him because he's vital to our plans and as far as I'm concerned he'll be in the squad for the game at Chesterfield on Saturday."
Lambert, who signed eleven new players during the close season, also told wwfc.com that he may bring in more new faces before the transfer window closes on Friday night: "We've got one or two things going on, we'll just have to wait and see."
