The Wycombe Wanderers Ladies reserve side were formed in 2003. They compete in the Thames Valley Counties League Division Two.

Last season the ladies finished second. The team play their home games on the Rye and are always looking for new players.

Here is an introduction to the Wycombe Wanderers ladies reserve side.

A Bit About Esme...
Esme re-joined the club after leaving a good few years back. She is a very strong goalkeeper and is not afraid to come rushing out at your feet. She also has the ability to control the defence, and is a good on the pitch communicator. She is commanding in goal putting off many opposition players.

A Bit About Sharon...
Shazza is our versatile Canadian defender and has often been switched from left to right back. She gives midfielders in front of her confidence and not a lot gets passed her. Shazza had an impressive season last year and bagged the 'Most Improved Player' award. She joined in 2004 with little Football knowledge and is now a valued member of the team.

A Bit About Mollie...
Mollie joined the club at a young age and has worked through the teams. She gives the defence a lot of confidence, with her pace and ability to read the game well. Mollie was a shy young player, but has learned communication is key in every game and now she is very vocal, and very encouraging towards the rest of the team.

A Bit About Marion...
Mazza - our stand in left back. Mazza agreed to help out the reserves if and when we were struggling for players during the season, but she has played 90% of our games and even managed a darting run from left back to score an amazing goal. Maz is very encouraging towards all players and is keen to teach old and new player's.

A Bit About Amy...
Amy has been with the clubs for years and is always threatening to retire although she can never actually bring herself to walk away from the club. She is a good leader and a strong midfielder, who likes a good battle and always gives the team 110%. Amy's name is always first on the team sheet, and will continue to be first on the team sheet for a few more seasons to come.

A Bit Of Becca...
Becca is a hard working attacking midfielder, who's work rate is remarkable, she closes defender's down and makes it hard for them to get the ball out of their own half. She is full of energy and could run all day long. Becca's name is quite often on the score sheet and she did an excellent job covering for our injured striker at the end of last season.

A Bit Of Sarah...
Sarah joined the club around the same time as Shazza and both have made incredible improvement. Sarah won 'Most Improved Player' two seasons ago and has still continued to learn and progress her game. Sarah is a strong tackler and is not afraid to go to ground to win the ball. She is a vital member of the squad and does an excellent job at protecting the defence. She can use both feet and is very good at playing balls to the attackers.

A Bit About Sophie...
Sophie has been at the club for nearly four years and has improved every year, like Mollie she was a very quiet and shy player, but has become a very forthcoming footballer and is always encouraging players and cheering the team on. Sophie quite often has a following of friends on the sideline, which only helps her to maintain her high effort levels.

Hannah joined the club while a young teenager and has come through the youth team, to become a regular member in the reserve team. She is on the verge of breaking into the first team. She is naturally a right midfielder but quite often plays on the left and does an equally good job. Hannah is young and has a very good eye for goal with a handful of goals last season and even a hat trick in one game. Hannah will have many more years left at the club and it won't be long before she is a full time first team player.

A Bit About Jade...
Jade is another player who was in the youth team and has progressed through the ranks. Jade is a strong left footed player who has scored some superb goals this season, where even the opposition have stopped and applauded. Jade is still learning the game but has the ability to become a first team member in a few years. She won 'Manager's Player of the Season' this year for her efforts and progression on the pitch.

A Bit About Stephanie...
Twinkle is our top scorer and captain as well as the team's manager. She is an excellent leader and communicator, always giving 110% even when she was injured and unable to play for the last part of the season. Twinkle has been the teams top scorer for 5 years and won the players vote for 'Player of the Season' last year. Twinkles sense of humour is legendary. The team eagerly awaits Twinkles return to the team sheet this season.

A Bit About Tahli...
Tahli re-joined the club this summer after a spell with Holmer Green ladies, she previous played for us and was in the squad when we won the league. She is a versatile player but mainly plays on the right side of the pitch. Tahli quite often has family and friends supporting her when we're playing and she is a good experienced team member. Tahli is passionate about football and work's within Wycombe Wanderers, she reads the game very well and is very strong in tackles.

A Bit About Katriona...
Buttons is a versatile player who spent 3 or 4 years in goal before starting to play out on pitch in defence. Buttons suffered a bad injury last season and has undergone two operations on her knee. We're not yet sure if she will be back playing for us this season. But we wish her all the luck in getting fit and joining us in a match again soon.
