LADIES FIRST TEAM SQUAD
The ladies side are about to embark on their eighteenth season having been established back in 1989. They compete in the Southern Region Women's Football League Premier Division, which is the fourth tier of women's football.
Last season the ladies finished in fifth place and will be looking to push for promotion to the South West Combination in the coming campaign. The team play their home games at Derehams Lane in Loudwater and are always looking for new players.
There may be some Wanderers supporters who'll confess to not knowing a lot about the girls in blue. Well wwfc.com is here to help with an introduction to the Wycombe Wanderers ladies team.

A Bit About Katie...
Katie is both a talented goalkeeper and an excellent outfield player. She played consistently well for the first team last season but has been restricted to playing in goal due to a knee injury. Katie has been at the club for 7 years now after joining at the tender age of 9. We're all looking forward to seeing her fully recovered and strutting her stuff outfield next season.

A Bit About Heather...
Heather is Miss Wycombe Wanderers personified, she eats, sleeps and breathes Wycombe having been an integral part of the club for 9 years, during which time she has picked up the hat-trick of Most Improved, Player's Player and Manager's Player of the season accolades. A versatile player, she has played in almost every position over the years. Although a series of injuries hampered her last season this did not stop her putting in some tremendous performances in the centre of midfield and at right-back. Whenever she pulls on the WWLFC shirt you can be guaranteed she will give 100%.

A Bit About Jodie...
Jodie is a strong right back and a great header of the ball with a good long throw. She is currently studying at University but returned to play for us many times last season, adding strength and power to the starting line-up.

Name Esther MORLEY

A Bit About Esther...
Esther produced many outstanding performances last season marshalling a strong defence that conceded fewer than 1.7 goals a game. She is a hard working and committed player and has improved continually since joining the club 7 years ago, undoubtedly having her best season for Wycombe last year. An integral part of the club, she's also managed to scare most of the team witless by adding the occasional dragback to her game. Always on hand to point out anything 'interesting', she has picked up Player's Player and Most Improved Player accolades during her time at the club.

A Bit About Hazel...
After an extremely successful season in the reserves playing club football for the first time in 2005/2006 and picking up Player of the Year, Hazel's obvious ability and strength won her a starting place in the first team last season. Hazel has lots of natural talent and was another key player in securing our highest ever league position last year. She's gone to Australia to see what the standard of football is like out there for six months, hopefully they will be able to explain the offside rule to her before she gets back. We will certainly miss her in the first half of the season and look forward to her return in 2008.

A Bit About Kirsty...
Kirsty is a strong and commanding central midfield player who works hard and gives 100% every time she steps onto the pitch. Always smiling (apart from the occasional hang-over!) she is a great player to have in the dressing room and a real asset to the team. Last season saw Kirsty play some excellent football and pick up the Manager's Player of the Season award for her consistently good performances.

A Bit About Leah...
Leah lives and breathes football and is a talented player. Her pace, strength and skill make her a difficult proposition for the opposition to handle and she is equally at home playing on the wing or as a centre forward. Leah is another player who put in key performances last season and showed vast improvements in her game. After playing nearly every position on the pitch at some point last season, her team mates voted her Player's Player of the Year. Her driving ability though, is still in question.

Name Charlee CLARKE

A Bit About Charlee...
Charlee is an exceptional young player who stepped up a level and really fulfilled her obvious potential last season. A very natural footballer her skills often mesmerise not only the opposition but also her own teammates. She is a pleasure to have in the side and after a brilliant season deservedly picked up Most Improved Player at the awards evening.

A Bit About Su...
Su is a skilful and powerful striker who despite struggling with injury this season has weighed in with many crucial goals. After joining the club at the age of 12, she is one of the clubs longest serving players and has been a regular in the Berks and Bucks Reps team over the last couple of years. A good finisher (most of the time - penalties obviously don't count!), she has been Top Scorer for as long as anyone can remember and she is always a difficult player for the opposition to deal with.

Name Sarah "Twiggy" DAVIS

A Bit About Twiggy...
Twiggy was an excellent signing for the club last summer and has been a valuable addition to the team. She started the season playing as a striker but has found a niche on the right wing where her fantastic ball distribution skills have seen her provide numerous assists for the strikers. An awesome set-piece taker her dangerous corners have seen us score more goals from headers than in any other season. Despite her good technique and all-round ability her greatest asset still remains her provision of Haribo at away games.

Name Renee KWANTES

A Bit About Ren...
Ren is our bubbly Canadian winger who had a great season in 2006/2007, proving that she can also play the link position between the midfield and striker. A regular in the starting line-up her touch and ball distribution skills showed significant improvement and she scored some important and well-taken goals along the way. Now that Ren's pink Skoda has become public knowledge, Ren is returning to Canada for a short period but we hope to have her back in the team soon. We will certainly miss her karaoke skills.
