Hi and welcome to another edition of the Jamie Young Show.
I trust you are all in good spirits ahead of the festive period. As always there is plenty to talk around this time of year, so let's get to it.
The team's recent results have been quite positive and it's always great to see the team back on a winning role. This season was always going to be difficult, but I believe the recent upturn in form can boost us for future games.
One thing that I have noticed around grounds recently is clubs' support for our armed forces. I think this is a great because people don't see our forces fighting abroad and I believe it can be a little 'out of sight, out of mind'. I mean if it weren't for Ross Kemp I wouldn't have a clue of what it's like to fight in a war or anything of that nature!
At Millwall I saw an ex-soldier who had lost both of his legs fighting in battle and that struck a chord with me. As a footballer you only are playing a game but as a soldier you are putting your life on the line. His injuries were an example of the seriousness of what the armed forces are doing at this moment in time.
As all of you know Gareth Ainsworth is currently on loan at Wycombe from QPR. I'm sure you've all seen his football abilities on the pitch but something that has intrigued me off the pitch is his taste for music. Finally, I have someone who shares my music taste and he even goes one step further as he's been a singer in a band!

Killswitch Engage |
Speaking of bands it had been a while since I had been to any gigs before one of my friends got me tickets for Killswitch Engage at Hammersmith Apollo. Their name sounds pretty intimidating to say the least but I've been told they got their name from an episode of the X-Files! I had already seen them live before so I knew what to expect, although I was surprised when one of their guitarists came out in a headband, a cape and a pink tutu. Despite all this their machine-gun riffs and very fashionable melodies were as precise as if it were on one of their CD's and it's easy to see why they are at the top of their genre. I hope I can see them again in the future!
Christmas is always a special time of year and next week the players are heading to both Wycombe General Hospital and Stoke Mandeville Hospital to deliver presents. Even though this is a special time of the year there are also people out there who aren't so lucky due to illness, injury, etc. So, for the players it's a chance for us to help someone out who might be going through a tougher time than us.
May I take this opportunity to wish all Wanderers supporters a happy and safe Christmas!!!!
As it's nearing the end of the year I always like to look back at what we have achieved. I think achieving the promotion in the summer was wonderful and even though results this season haven't been as promising, I believe things are starting to look up and that we are on the verge of consolidating our position in League One.
Well that's it for another edition! I hope to see all of you down at Adams Park in the near future.
Keep it real!
