THE JAMIE YOUNG SHOW

Posted on: Thu 29 Oct 2009
Hi and welcome to a cold edition of the Jamie Young Show.

Most of you out there will be welcoming the cold weather after a longish summer. As we're about a quarter of the way through the season now I thought it was time to produce another world class blog……why is everyone laughing?????

Since my last notes there has been a change in management at the club and if I'm honest I don't know if it was a good decision or a bad one as I've have no clue about recruiting a new manager! That's for the people upstairs.

What the appointment of Gary Waddock has done though is given everyone a buzz at game time. The new manager gives off a very positive aura and I believe this will help the players' confidence in the long term.

I just wanted to say to all the fans that it was great to see everyone getting behind the team in our last outing at Adams Park against Colchester United.

Your support on the day really helped lift the lads. That kind of backing gives you that 12th man sort of feel and it was definitely prominent throughout the game, especially towards the end when we were searching for the equaliser.

Now we've entered the winter months food becomes particularly important to starve off any colds, so I've been lucky in that respect because of the arrival of my parents. When you live on your own you have to do everything for yourself and to finally not have to do that is great. Don't get me wrong I can cook with the best of them but it's nice to put my feet up and relax….. more time for XBOX I say!

Ironically though their arrival has seen me be able to spend less time on my XBOX, as my dad has taken over the place and instead of guitar riffs and Kerrang on the TV it's now newspapers everywhere and Sky news!

I swear I could tell you what is happening over in Guatemala right now! On a serious note though it's great to have them over because I don't get to see them everyday like most people. This is a very special time for my family and I. Showing them my life over here and the difference between the two cultures has been interesting to say the least. It's nice to have some people here from a culture that I understand for once and maybe not everything is upside down to me!

England has qualified for the World Cup!!!! This campaign has seemed like a stroll in some ways and it's great to see the supporters behind them too! Hopefully that'll last into the tournament and long after.

Something that I failed to mention in my last blog was the departure of one of the members of the world famous 'Channel Four News Team', Ross Jeavons (Wycombe's Media Team) has defected down the road to Reading FC. Ross is one of those guys you could have a great laugh with and especially with me as he was on the end of a lot of banter.

But in truth he conducted himself with an extreme amount of integrity and was a true professional (I know the other media guys are laughing at this statement as we speak!). Ross if you're reading this pal all the best at your new work… I hope they give you hell!!!!

Well I trust you guys out there are now rejuvenated from the recent events and hopefully you can all come down on Saturday for the Walsall and get behind the team.

Keep It Real!
