Hey everyone, and welcome to the third edition of this season's 'Jamie Young Show'. It's been a while since my last effort so that just means there are plenty of things to talk about. As I'm your host once again I'll be able to bring you more insight into the lives of Wycombe's finest, so let's throw down!
As we're well into the season now it means the summer has been and gone, and there certainly have been plenty of events over the last few months to keep us entertained. First off pre-season started and that meant getting to know a new manager and some new faces in the team, all of whom have settled well. Some more than others of course.
It seems all you have to say these days is "I love the club and it's a dream move for me" and you'll fit right in. Well that's what John Mousinho did and believe me we've all got into him…. Namely myself. I mean come on John that's just sad! But nevertheless we've all come accustomed to his many poor quotes in the press. Watch this space…

Midfielder John Mousinho has been a bit too keen for Youngy's liking... |
Summer in England is obviously the best time of year and for me that means festivals. As always I'm really interested and I'm lucky enough to have the Reading festival right round the corner. As it was I ended up going and as always I was impressed with what was on show.
Among the artists that were there included Pendulum, Feeder, Tenacious D and Metallica. That's not a bad line up but what did really blow was the fact that two of my favourite bands in Avenged Sevenfold and Slipknot had cancelled. I had learned a week before the event that the drummer of Slipknot had broken his ankle as well as the DJ breaking both his heels (It just shows you how hardcore they are!!!).
Avenged Sevenfold on the other hand had a problem with the singer losing his voice (you sure they didn't get too drunk the night before?). No matter how disappointing that was it wasn't going to ruin my day as I'd got free tickets through one of my friends and I was generally just stoked to see something that you could only see maybe once in a lifetime.
What was even more exciting for me was the fact that I could do it all with my brother Hamish because he's had to hear non-stop about my stories of previous years, so it was awesome to finally get to indulge in another great event with him. Anyway the day began with a band I have never heard of, in the form of "Mindless Self-Indulgence". Let's just say they lived up to their name!
At that stage I was thinking that maybe this wasn't going to live up to expectations. After that I saw 'Pendulum' whom I'm pretty sure are Aussie, in the 'Radio One' tent. I've never been in such a crowded mosh pit before, and although they were different to what I usually go for I'd say they were still pretty awesome.
Back over to the main stage I saw Tenacious D throwing their antics, and in terms of value for money they were the sure fire winners of the day. Jack Black is one of the funniest actors going about and his showmanship on stage was equally flamboyant.
Tenacious D have never been a band I have really been into, but the show they put on was just class! Because of this I can see why people like them, they just have something about them and it makes you want to just get involved with that. Jack Black equally has such a down to earth persona and I really like that, for me this enhanced the show.

Rock On: Youngy has been off to the festivals once more |
With my spirits back in form after the absence of two of my favorite acts, I was expecting big things from Metallica to bring things back on track. I've always liked them, they are pioneers in the industry and they influence probably any rock band that has come out since they formed. I've read countless articles where bands say Metallica has influenced them so they must have something stunning about them.
I was just blown away by them. They just seemed bigger than life and their music was just so loud. It was definitely a gig that I will never forget and it after 30 years in the business they still have it. They took away any bad feelings about the other missing bands and put this impression on me that they deserve their superstardom.
It was just unbelievable experience and it was capped off when Kirk Hammett threw out his guitar pick and somehow I caught it. Now I have my own part of history of them, and it capped off just a great day as a whole. Rock on!!!
Another great thing about the English summer is Wimbledon. In the summer in Australia we have the Australian Open which I've always enjoyed, so it just seemed natural to get into Wimbledon and this year was no different as Rafael Nadal won it in an absolute classic. That match typified to me what Wimbledon is all about and I think that's what makes it such an exciting tournament. I hope next year will be in the same spirit. Now into a bit of football…
Who would have guessed that we would have been doing so well in the league so far? Personally I didn't think we would have and that's because of a new manager and a whole bunch of new players having to mould and play as a team. Thankfully though we have and it's been a wonderful start to the season. Can we keep it up for the rest of the campaign? No one can see into the future but I think we've come this far, so let's keep it going!
One of the great things in football is that you can have a laugh around and get away with it. Half the things we do I don't think you could get away with in an office job. I can't imagine one of the staff down at the ground getting their clothes taped to the ceiling as they are deemed to be so poor, but that is a regular occurrence up at the training ground!
There are certain rituals we also incorporate such as the "yellow shirt award", which given to the worst player every Friday. Within the goalkeeping fraternity we play a quick game of two touch, and the loser of that has to endure a few snap shops from all the other participants - while adopting a rather compromising position in the goalmouth. That can be quite painful, especially in the winter.

What would you rather watch, Shears or Only Fools and Horses? |
Luckily for me I play the game like I'm Fabien Barthez, and haven't had to be in that situation as of yet! While we're talking of the goalkeeping union I thought it was really interesting when one of the media guys told me how Shears wanted some tapes of his old games put onto some DVD.
This is not an uncommon thing, I've done it myself many a time, what is uncommon though is that a few of the tapes contained nothing but old episodes of 'Only Fools and Horses'. Shears are you trying to tell us something??? Knowing him he would say he did it on purpose, but either way I thought it was hilarious and very ironic.
Well I think that's about does it for another episode. As always send your questions into us on media@wwfc.com, it would be great to get some fans perspective so get involved. Once again get behind the boys as we are trying to gain promotion. Until then, Keep it real!!!!!!
