Hey, and welcome back to The Jamie Young Show. I'll be your host once again and in this week's edition I'll be bringing you more hilarities from the world of football.

I haven't been able to get a new edition out there for a while due to the busy schedule of the team. On the other hand though this means there is plenty to talk about once again. So let's get to it. First up as always, question time! These ones are sure to get me into trouble!

Who is the most talented Defender, Midfielder and Forward at the club?

Ok, defender-wise I think big Mike (Williamson) when he gets fit is an awesome prospect. He's strong, athletic and reads the game well. And it's amazing how he's not playing at a higher level.

Midfield-wise, without a doubt, Stefan Oakes. I'm still scratching my head on why he's not playing at higher level. Technically he's better than some of the players I have played with for England and they're in the Premiership! Maybe some food for thought Oakesy?!

Striker-wise, Scott Mcgleish is the man who is in form and banging goals in like nobody's business. I remember a few years ago I was on loan to Rushden and Diamonds and someone there said "Don't worry about Scott , he can't score". He put one through my legs that night, I'll always remember that.

Who has the best/strongest shot out of all the players in training and do they use this effectively in a game?

Oakesy in training is just ridiculous. You know when he is shooting you have to be on your game so I always make a point to try and stop his because I know it will test me. In games though I haven't seen him reproduce this. He's a sitting midfielder so getting forward is not a priority.

Who is the biggest pansy in the team when it comes to tackling and being tackled?

I wouldn't say he's a pansy but when it comes to tackling there's no worse tackler than Sergio. Like all flair players he can't tackle to save his life, but on the flip side he's always getting kicked when he's running with the ball as his main asset is to run with it. This has got him the name of "pea" because his heart is the size of a pea due to his regularities in the treatment room.

Who, out of the current team has the most chance of getting a "dream move" to a bigger club?"

I don't know this one (who asks these questions?!). Football can change so quickly and when players are doing well, people will come looking at them.

Well let's move on and talk about the current form of the team. The win against Chesterfield was a massive one for us. I think we now believe we have what it takes to get out of this league and this was a major boost for us.

So playing Dagenham in our next game shouldn't be too hard right? Well, even though they are at the bottom of the division, they are fighting for survival and this can be a very dangerous thing. This showed when we played them. They were hungry for a result and they got one out of us. Very disappointing for us.

The next game brought Accrington and this could be equally as dangerous especially on their pitch. I always feel when you see something like that, anything can happen. But it was a great result and a very convincing one - they didn't really look convincing and they were there for the taking. So it was a great result for us again and personally I feel we can go on from this. With the addition of Neil Lennon I think there is a steadiness within the team and his influence could definitely steer us to promotion.

Big Rab was too macho to feel the cold
Rab: down-to-earth

One thing that I have forgotten to talk about in the last couple weeks is Rab Douglas. I'm sure everyone out there is dying to know what he is like and the certain things he has that has taken him to the top ofthe game. The first thing I noticed about Rab is that he a very approachable person. You wouldn't have thought he had achieved everything that he has in his career by his personality. He's an extremely down to earth person.

I don't know if I found it easier than anyone else because I'm in the goalie union but I felt it was just easy chatting. For me, watching him in training was the one thing I wanted to do because I wanted to see why he has played at the top. Unfortunately though I was injured for a lot of his stay here and that sucked massively because when players of his calibre come around you have to make the most of it.

I remember when we had Martin Keown and Les Ferdinand at Reading - they too were very down to earth people and I got on well with Martin. Having players like that around is great for young players and for me personally it's great to learn things that make players at the highest level. The most noticeable thingabout this is that all the players at the top I've met are down to earth and I think they don't have to prove themselves to anyone. So to have players like Rab and Lenny, I'm know it'll have a better influence on us than just the football pitch. Moving on...

Playing again has been great for me personally. It's been a lot to expect of me I think to get fit and back involved in the team so quickly but I think that's how football is some times. It can be a lot of 'all or nothing'. I've wanted to get back involved and to do so has been quite relieving. All the work in the gym has paid off and the leg which resembled a Twix chocolate bar has gone and now it's been rebuilt to what it once was.

So a big thanks goes to the physio's who have helped me regain my fitness. I still regularly go in there to see how Shears and Dave Reading are getting on. They're both partners in crime when I was in there and I wish them both speedy recoveries. I always see Dave Jones, Shay Connolly and Murray Moore and say hello. I had this injury in common with them and I feel like I get on better with them because of that. Even now Jonah makes sure I'm doing the little bit of rehab I have to do and that is a credit to how methodical he is.

Lastly you might be aware that Sam Stockley has gone on trial at FC Dallas in the USA. Sam's contract is up at the end of the season and without a long-term future settled, I'm sure he has to consider his options. Personally I think this a great opportunity for him and I wish him well.

More to the point though I have been asked to take over his programme column until he comes back. Yes, I have been reading his column, and all I ever see on there is him hammering me. Well the tables have turned my friend and I'm gonna have to get some back of my own. Let the games begin!

Well thanks for tuning in again this week. I'll be back next week as usual but have a lookout for my one-off column coming up in the programme. Also keep your questions coming in, your input is greatly appreciated.

All the best and keep it real!

Youngy.
