BLUES LEGEND - LEN WORLEY

Posted on: Fri 17 Apr 2009

Known as the 'Stanley Matthews' of Amateur football, Len was just like his idol: a right winger who dribbled around defenders and delivered deadly crosses.

He was spotted playing against Wycombe in a friendly for Chalfont St Peter at the age of sixteen and made such an impression that coach at the time Sid Cann signed him for the start of the 1954-55 season.

After helping the Blues to reach the final of the FA Amateur Cup in 1957 he went on to play for Spurs as an Amateur but remained on Wanderers' books.
