Over 3,500 children from church schools in the Buckinghamshire area attended Adams Park on Tuesday to celebrate the 'festival of song.'

The home of Wycombe Wanderers was the venue for over 40 schools and 12 bishops, as the kids showcased their singing talents in an one hour performance to parents and spectators.

Children arrived at 11am for a rehearsal before beginning the 'Songs For Praise' event at 1pm.

Community Trust manager Dave Evans told wwfc.com: "It was a fantastic event and one the children seemed to enjoy every minute of. By working in partnership with the County Council we were able to offer the children the chance to experience singing at a unique and special arena in Adams Park."

The children were in full voice

Head of music service at Bucks County Council Helen Blakeman said: "We've previously performed at the Royal Albert Hall but we found Adams Park a more appropriate arena to the hold the event. We are also in talks with the club to once again host the show at Adams Park in 2010."

Award-winning Adams Park Security were on hand to oversee the day, which saw a record 79 coaches enter the Adams Park gates.

Stadium manager and safety officer Richard Stanford said: "The event shows how diverse we are as a club. Everyone at Wycombe Wanderers is committed to the all the Community's projects and the safety of the people that attend them."
