ROYAL SEAL OF APPROVAL
By Ross Jeavons
The Duke of Gloucester came to see the Blues' Football In The Community coaching club in action on Wednesday afternoon.
It formed part of a Royal Visit to Buckinghamshire that also included Saunderton Railway Station and Henley on Thames Management College.
Prince Richard personally requested to see the after-school club in action, which coached football to young kids at St. John's CE Combined School in Lacey Green.
His royal highness was greeted by head teacher Mr De Wolf, Chair of Governors Mr G King and Football In The Community Scheme Liaison Officer Alan Dunham.
Alan briefed the Duke on the Wanderers community scheme, and the format of the impressive after school clubs.
The Duke also had a chance to see the coaching in action - and was impressed by both the kids and the coaches, despite the blustery conditions.
Prince Richard even had a chance to chat about the history of Wycombe Wanderers, and commented on their marvellous achievements in the F.A and Carling Cups.

"We run over sixty of the after school clubs a week, all throughout High Wycombe and the surrounding areas," said Alan - Wanderers' Football in the Community Liason Officer.
"At the end of the course they get a medal and two free tickets to see the Wanderers, we've been doing this sort of thing for over ten years and it's great. To have a visit from the Duke of Gloucester was great, and thoroughly deserved for all the hard work everyone puts in to the community.
I think he was impressed - and it shows us that we're doing something right."
