Adams Park hosted two Network Rail Open Days in July which form part of a dedicated educational programme in schools and communities to raise awareness about the dangers of railway crime.
Network Rail, who sponsor the Wycombe Wanderers Football In The Community Scheme, help run the annual open days held at Adams Park. The first took place on Tuesday 10th July 2007, when 300 kids from 6 local primary schools listened to a presentation on rail safety from Network Rail safety officer Terry Hawkins.
The kids were also given a tour of the stadium, play on an inflatable pitch, shoot for goal with inflatable activities, took part in a penalty shoot-out competition and tested the power of ther shot with the speed gun.
The second Network Rail Open Day took place a week later, on Tuesday 17th July 2007, when another 300 kids, this time from 6 local secondary schools enjoyed the same activities as their younger counterparts.
Local radio station Mix 107FM also took part in the open day, where the kids were interviewed live, and adverts highlighting the dangers were played on air during the day.
