Wanderers are playing their part in promoting '1GOAL' - the global education-based initiative designed to raise awareness of the 72 million children around the world who are not in school.

1GOAL are using this summer's World Cup in South Africa to enhance the project's profile and help secure 30 million signatures to ensure world leaders allocate funding that will see every child in the world receive a primary education by 2015.

The club showed their support for the campaign by holding a mini version of the sporting showpiece at Marlow's Spinfield School on Monday.

Community Trust coach Corin Evans (pictured right) delivered 1GOAL's message to the children of years 3 and 4 before opening the tournament.

Wycombe striker Matt McClure was also on hand to back the initiative, answering questions about 1GOAL and his hopes for the new season before signing autographs and posing for pictures.

Head of Community Dave Evans said: "The message was well received by the children, and it was clear they understood how fortunate they are in comparison to kids of their age in third world countries.

"There has been a lot of publicity surrounding the townships in places such as South Africa and we just want to try and help raise awareness of 1GOAL to give more children the chance to enjoy an education."
