Game over
Wanderers have lost here on penalties after a 2-2 draw in which Jon-Paul Pittman twice levelled the scores. Ryan Gilligan scored from the spot before Pittman netted his own penalty, but Steve Guinan looked to have won it with four minutes remaining.
Pittman bundled home in stoppage time to force penalties, but three poor spot-kicks from the Blues handed the advantage to the Cobblers, who netted all three to progress to the next round.
Penalties:
The spot-kicks will be taken in front of the Valley Terrace, with Wycombe to take first.
0-0 - Westlake's kick is saved down low to the keeper's right
0-1 - Gilligan finishes confidently, sending Young the wrong way
0-1 - Identical to the first kick, the keeper saves Chambers' effort
0-2 - Steve Guinan rolls it in with ease
0-2 - Leon Johnson smashes it wide
0-3 - Osman wins it

We have penalties!
90+3mins
And JP wins the man of the match award. No surprises there.
90+2mins
There were four minutes added on, JP won a corner, Jamie Young came up for it and JP put it away. Late drama after all.
90th min
GOAL - How did that go in?! Jon-Paul Pittman's claiming it but I'm not sure he knew much about it. Good cross from the right following a corner, and it's bundled home. 2-2.
89th min
No real sign of any more late danger as the Cobblers look tight at the back. What a blow that goal was.
86th min
GOAL - the old foe Steve Guinan scores as Wycombe fail to clear, and this one might not be heading to penalties after all. Possibly could have been offside, but the Blues have only themselves to blame.
84th min
Good spell of pressure here for the Blues and it's Joe Cobb who's involved on a couple of occasions. Attendance is 1,035.
81st min
Half chance for Alex Dyer as he fires high over the bar from a low Joe Benjamin cross.
80th min
Last sub of the game - Steve Guinan replaces Gary Mulligan for the visitors.
77th min
We've reached a quiet spell in the game, and maybe both sides will be happy with a shoot-out?
73rd min
Two changes for the Cobblers, with Joe Benjamin and Alex Dyer coming on for Ben Marshall and Luke Boden in midfield.
70th min
Successive corners to Wycombe and the second one causes the keeper to palm away nervously. Here comes our final sub, and Lewwis Spence replaces Matt Phillips.
68th min
Bodies go a-tumbling inside the Wycombe box and there are anxious faces as the ref blows his whistle...but it's a free-kick to the home side.
65th min
Matt Phillips goes into the book for a foul and Jamie Young produces a smart save from the resulting free-kick.
62nd min
GOAL! Jon-Paul Pittman wins the penalty by flicking the ball against the arm of Dean Beckwith and the striker duly smashes the ball down the middle to level the scores. Two penalties in this game already and if the score stays as it is, there'll be more at the end of it.
61st min
PENALTY TO WYCOMBE!
59th min
Northampton haven't really done anything to deserve to be winning this one but they are preventing the Blues from registering any efforts on target in this half. Their backline of Hinton, McCready and Beckwith are all experienced and are holding their own.
55th min
Wycombe are looking confident and creative with the ball and it's great to see, judging by the fact that the average age of the team is probably around 21-22 if you discount the central defenders.
52nd min
Superb run from Matty Phillips down the left and his cross to the back stick is only half cleared to Marlon Pack, who bursts into the box and pulls it back towards Pittman, but the ball is cleared.
51st min
JP gives a sign of his ability with a rasping effort from 20 yards after the ball was worked to him inside the Cobblers' half, but his drive flies over the bar.
48th min
Good play between housemates Job Cobb and Ashley Chambers as the left-back rolls a quick free-kick into the feet of the striker, with Chambers' low drive from 20 yards going just past the post.
46th min
We're back underway and Joe Cobb has come on at half-time for Craig Woodman in a like-for-like swap at left-back. It was actually Leon Johnson who made the foul and was booked for the penalty - apologies to Chris Westwood.
HT
Half-time here and the Blues trail to a penalty which was converted by Ryan Gilligan five minutes before the break. JP Pittman had the best chance of the half but his touch was heavy when through one-on-one, and there'll need to be an improvement after the interval.
45th min
Two minutes added on, and JP wins a corner for the Blues, but the ref blows for a high foot from Marlon Pack. Moments later, Ashley Chambers half blocks the keeper's clearance but the ball spins to safety, and it looks like we'll be behind at the break.
44th min
The flag denies Gary Mulligan after a good deep cross from Robbie Threlfall and the visitors are finishing the half on top.
41st min
The visitors had just been sending a couple of dangerous crosses into the box and one ball from the left found Ben Marshall, who had escaped his man and headed just wide from a few yards out. However, the ref adjudged Johnson to have pushed Marshall, and pointed to the spot.
40th min
GOAL - Gilligan puts it away and the visitors have the lead after being on the back foot for most of the half.
38th min
PENALTY TO NORTHAMPTON. A panicky few minutes for Wycombe results in Leon Johnson shoving Ben Marshall to the ground inside the box, earning a yellow card, and Ryan Gilligan has a chance to open the scoring.
33rd min
Stuart Beavon's down injured again and it looks like he'll be coming off as a precaution. Cue Ashley Chambers, who comes on for his Wanderers debut.
32nd min
The Cobblers have come into the game a bit more but still don't look like troubling a well-organised Wycombe defence.
30th min
Brief panic over as the ball sails over the bar.
29th min
Silly push in the back by JP to gift Northampton a free-kick 30 yards out, and Ryan Gilligan is stepping up.
25th min
Northampton have barely had a sniff in this game and it's the Wanderers who are in control.
21st min
We almost had the opening goal and it came at the end of a smart passing move, with Craig Woodman chipping it forward for Ian Westlake to meet the pass in the box and volley it low and just wide.
17th min
The man of the moment, Kevin Betsy, is in the stands with Tommy Doherty, Stuart Green and Michael Duberry, watching on as the Blues boss the early stages.
Marlon Pack is looking composed in the middle of the park and the Portsmouth loanee looks to have a great range of passing, picking long balls out to Matt Phillips on a couple of occasions.
15th min
Great cross this time from Matt Phillips which causes havoc in the visiting box and from the corner, Chris Westwood heads straight at the keeper.
11th min
JP misses a golden opportunity to open the scoring as he flicks on a long ball forward, races on to it but his touch is too heavy and the keeper comes out and slides at the striker's feet, diverting the ball away from goal.
Moments later, Pittman heads just over the bar from an Adam Smith cross and Wycombe are on top.
9th min
Stuart Beavon is back on his feet after a late tackle from a Town midfielder, and it's been a fairly quiet start to the game.
5th min
Good play from Cobblers striker Gary Mulligan to latch on to a long ball forward and flick it over the shoulder of Westwood, but the Blues' defence got back in numbers to squeeze him out.
3rd min
Slightly scrappy defensive play from the home side to clear a low cross from the right, but Chris Westwood did enough to get it clear.
1st min
We're underway, and a bright start from the Blues. Matt Phillips sends in a low cross, it's half-cleared to Ian Westlake and his low drive was deflected wide for a corner.
18.58
Matt Bloomfield takes his seat in the stand alongside Alan Parry and Scott McGleish, who used to play for both clubs, and it's great to see Blooms looking well again after his horrific facial injury against Peterborough three weeks ago.
18.55
Here come the teams - Wycombe in light and dark blue, Northampton in claret and white - and kick-off is just minutes away.
18.50
I should also add before we kick off that there will be NO extra-time if tonight's game ends in a draw - it'll be straight to a penalty shoot-out after 90 minutes.
18.45
As the news of super Kev's return filters around Adams Park, there are a lot of pleasantly surprised faces amongst the home support who have fond memories of the winger's spell with the club earlier in the decade.
Anyway, we've got a game to concentrate on now and it won't be long until the teams enter the field.
18.30
KEVIN BETSY IS BACK! The 31-year-old returns to Adams Park two and a half years after departing for Bristol City, and arrives on a four-month loan from Southend United.
The deal went through just 188 seconds before the transfer window slammed shut, and the winger is a Wanderer again. Click here for the full story.
18.25
Breaking transfer news on its way!
18.15
Of course it's transfer deadline day today and while many eyes will be on the wheelings and dealings in the Premier League, we're focussing on the action here at Adams Park in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
If you missed it earlier, former Wanderer Mike Williamson has sealed a move to Premiership side Portsmouth just eight months after leaving League Two for Watford, which is great news for the individual and for ourselves, who will receive a percentage of the fee.
18.10
There are a few familiar names in the Cobblers' line-up this evening, with Andy Holt coming up against his former employer Peter Taylor a few years after the pair worked together at Hull City.
The visitors also name Steve Guinan amongst their substitutes - the veteran striker of course scored here in the play-offs for Cheltenham three years ago.
18.00
Good evening and welcome to the clockwatch service for tonight's game with Northampton Town - cup football is back at Adams Park and with it comes a host of changes for Peter Taylor's side.
Only Craig Woodman, Matt Phillips and Ian Westlake started Saturday's League One victory over Bristol Rovers and there's a debut for 18-year-old midfielder Marlon Pack, who signed on loan from Portsmouth last week.
