Wanderers 0-4 Posh
Full-time here at Adams Park and the Blues have fallen to a 4-0 defeat to Peterborough United. The Championship side started opened the scoring on 24 minutes when Aaron McLean's shot was deflected in. Tommy Rowe made it two on 33 minutes, before a stunner from George Boyd and a late Lee Frecklington effort rounded off the scoring. Like Saturday, the Blues looked dangerous going forward but once again the defending let us down. Keep it wwfc.com for reaction.
92nd min - Phillips flashes one from the edge of the box and a spill from Lewis grants the Blues a corner. Late consolation?
91st min - A minimum of three mins added. JP goes very close to making it 4-1 after connecting with Matty Phillips' low cross. Pittman guided the ball towards goal but it went just the wrong side of Lewis' right post.
90th min - Neat defending from Leon Johnson under pressure from Peterborough's sub Shaun Batt.
88th min - Rowe should have had his second of the night. He was beautifully fed by Boyd and after steadying himself he fired inches over Youngy's bar.
85th min - Good interplay between Phillips and Zebroski sets up a chance for the latter but after cutting inside his marker he dragged his shot was wide. A bright point of the evening has been the very good performance of Zebroski.
83rd min - It so easily could have been five. Sub Ben Wright fires in a wonderful cross and Woodman has to clear under pressure.
81st min - Beavon tries his luck from 25 yards but it rolls wide of Joe Lewis' goal. The Posh keeper still hasn't been tested.
79th min - Zebroski is again the man in the middle of any good for the Blues in this second half. He weaved in and out of his marker before unleashing dipping effort, which flew only a metre over the bar.
76th min - Good defensive work from Leon Johnson to block Shaun Batt's attempted effort on goal. The game is petering out.
73rd min - Good keeping from Young denies Posh a fifth. The Aussie stopper was alert to come out and force Shaun Batt into knocking his effort wide of the right-hand post.
71st min - Westwood comes within a width of a crossbar of getting on the scoresheet. The defender got up well at the back post and lofted his header onto Joe Lewis' bar. It's just not our night.
68th min - GOAL! Lee Frecklington makes it 4-0 to The Championship side. The midfielder latched onto McLean's through ball and then powered the ball past Young.
65th min - Nice turn from Spiller to leave Frecklington for dead but his pass is slightly overhit for Zeb.
63rd min - Zeb has impressed since his intro at half-time and he alongside Pittman and Beavon could create something for the Blues.
62nd min - Positive work down the right from Zeb earns the Blues a corner.
60th min - The return of Russ Martin. The former Wanderers right-back is on for Charlie Lee.
59th min - GOAL! George Boyd makes it 3-0 to the visitors in tremendous fashion. The Posh winger picked the ball up from 25 yards from goal before firing the ball past Jamie Young. The Aussie stopper had no chance.
57th min - Quick sub for the referee's flag buzzer. Not the next we though from here in the press box!
54th min - Beavon keeps it to 2-0, as he heads off the line from a Posh corner. As much as the Blues look brighter in this second half they still look at tad vulnerable at the back.
52nd min - Best move of the match from the Blues. Spiller started it off with a sublime touch before Phillips picked the ball up, nutmegged Lee and then pinged a glorious crossfield pass to Zeb, who then drew a decent save from Lewis.
49th min - Another second half performance like Saturday would more than welcome right now. Matt Harrold, Adam Smith and Lewis Montrose are going through the paces.
47th min - Zebs has caused all sorts of problems since he's entered the fray. Good opening to the second 45 from the Blues.
46th min - Chris Zebroski is on for Stuart Green.
Half-time here at Adams Park and the Blues trail 2-0 at the break. Aaron McLean broke the deadlock on 24 minutes before Tommy Rowe doubled their lead on 33 minutes. Since then Peter Taylor's men have threatened and have gone close through Stuart Green and Matt Phillips. It could be an exciting final 45. Join me again in 15 minutes.
48th min - The answer is no, as Spiller blasts the kick high and wide over Joe Lewis' crossbar.
47th min - Pittman is a real handful for the Posh defence and he's won a free-kick on the edge of the box. Can we knick one before half-time?
46th min - The 4th official has indicated there will be a minimum of 4 minutes added time. This is due to the head injury to Matt Bloomfield, which has seen him by replaced by Phillips.
45th min - Spiller draws a free-kick from McLean and despite an obvious hand-off no card is brandished.
43rd min - A lot better from the home side. Firstly Green's shot is blocked on the line by Lee and then from the rebound Phillips' blistering effort is charged down. That's certainly got the crowd going.
42nd min - Spiller let's fly his first shot for the Blues but I bet he wished he hadn't. It not only flew over the bar but the Hypnos Terrace as well. Overall though it's been a steady debut from the former Millwall man.
40th min - Posh are threatening to make it 3-0 but as things stand we still trail 2-0. Like Saturday, anything can happen though so don't go anywhere.
38th min - Beavon again shows his class with a nice pass to find Westwood galloping down the right. Beavon will be an important part this season, you heard it here firs guys!
37th min - Toumani Diagouraga flies into a challenge on John Mousinho and gets nowhere near the ball. Caution please, Mr Kettle.
34th min - Decent chance for the Phillips to reduce the arrears but Luke Oliver's header came quick towards the youngster and he couldn't re-direct it on target. Still nothing for Joe Lewis to save.
33rd min - GOAL! Peterborough have doubled their lead and this time it's Tommy Rowe. Williams supplied the ball and Rowe nipped in front of Young to poke the ball home.
31st min - Pittman, Beavon, Phillips and co are playing some nice stuff but at the moment are unable to create any real openings. It only takes a second, as we saw from the weekend at Charlton.
28th min - Stunning move from The Championship side and this time it was Boyd going close for Ferguson's men. Williams fed the ball into McLean, he touched it to Boyd and luckily the former Stevenage man fired into the side-netting.
25th min - Good response from the Blues. The ball came to Phillips in the area but the youngster couldn't get it out of his feet and is eventually crowded out.
24th min - GOAL! Posh are ahead and it's that man Aaron McLean who has given the visitors the lead. The formidable striker flashed the ball across the box and after hitting Young it crept in.
23rd min - Superb positional sense from Woodman to clear a dangerous Smith cross.
21st min - Tom Williams is enjoying a warm reception on his return.
19th min - Better news for the midfielder, he's at least knows where he is and being stretchered off. He's been replaced by Matty Phillips. Looks like a broken nose, as he goes past down below us.
18th min - The Blues midfielder is still down and is now surrounded by paramedics. Hopefully he'll be OK.
16th min - Bloomfield is down with blood pouring out of his head. Sahy Connolly is on and treating Blooms.
15th min - Peter Taylor's men are playing soem great football. Again it was Beavon and Pittman combining, the latter found Westwood on the edge of the box and the defender's cross had to be dealt with by Gabriel Zakuani.
13th min - End to end stuff at Adams Park. Green goes close for the Blues, after latching onto sublime work from both Beavon and Pittman. In the end his shot was wide but the move was a promising one.
12th min - Posh should be ahead. George Boyd did great down the left and although his cross to Craig Mackail-Smith was pinpoint, the striker headed wide.
10th min - Nice move from the Blues but unfortunately Matt Bloomfield's reverse pass to Stuart Beavon was read, otherwise the Wanderers were through on goal.
9th min - That time McLean beats Westwood and draws a foul from Westwood. Nothing comes of the kick.
8th min - Fantastic interception from Westwood. The former Posh man, who is playing at right-back tonight, nipped in front of McLean and played the ball line.
6th min - Immense tackle from debutant Danny Spiller to deny Lee Frecklington an opening on the edge of the box. Spiller, who signed non-contract terms last week, flew across to make the block.
4th min - Nice passing from the Blues but skipper Chris Westwood's touch lets him down and the move breaks down.
Good opening here at Adams Park.
3rd min - Up the other end, Rowe whips the ball in the box but Jamie Young is up to the challenge and comes out to claim.
2nd min - First opening for the Blues. The ball fell to Jon-Paul Pittman in the area but the striker's touch lets him down and the chance peters out.
1st min - Early free-kick for the Blues, with Green and Woodman standing over it. John Mousinho is down under a heavy challenge from Aaron McLean.
