RESSIES HALT TRACTOR BOYS
By Ross Jeavons
Wanderers' reserve side got back on track in the Totesport Combination on Tuesday evening, with a well earned 2-1 victory over Ipswich Town. An impressive first half display saw the Blues take a two goal lead into the break, thanks to goals from Matt Richards and trialist Simon Dawkins.
A second half defensive error allowed Ipswich to grab one back through Connor Wickham, but Junior Lewis' men saw the game out to seal a well earned three points.

FULL TIME - WYCOMBE WANDERERS 2-1 IPSWICH TOWN
90 mins: Lovely turn from Rice as he leaves his marker for dead on the byline, unfortunately his cross is sliced high and handsome. Over the bar.
89 mins: Free kick whipped in strongly by Harding, but tipped over well by Young. Town have a corner.
88 mins: Another free kick for Town on the edge of the box, I feel a draw would be harsh on Wycombe here I have to say. Magno Vieira is indeed replaced by Dan Fitchett.
86 mins: Jamie Young has been very assured today, he claims another corner imperiously.
84 mins: Dan Fitchett looks ready to come on, I'd stab a guess and say Vieira will make way. He should test some tired legs.
81 mins: More quick feat and neat passing, and the Wanderers win themselves a corner. Cleared well by the Town defence though.
78 mins: Poor crossfield ball is intercepted by Richards, he shows a good engine to get inside the box but his left footed effort is cleared.
76 mins: It's Ashton that take it, but he swings his left footed effort over the bar.
75 mins That goal came out of nowhere really, it might just liven the last fifteen minutes up. Matt Richards tries to make up for things by driving at the box, showing some silky skills. He's brought down on the edge of the area with a fairly cynical kick. Good set pice chance 25 yards out for the Blues. Mousinho is over it.
72 mins: GOAL! Town have one back, poor bit of defending. Matt Richards has had a solid game but slices his defensive header completely, the ball falls to 15-year-old Wickham on the edge of the six yard box who slots home.
70 mins: Another quiet spell in the game, Mousinho tries to liven things up with a forraging run down the right but there is no-one in the area to receive his cross.
67 mins: There are options on the bench for the Blues, I wouldn't be surprised if we see the pace of Dan Fitchett utilised.
65 mins: The Blues give away a free kick in a very dangerous position, 25 yards from goal on the edge of the D. Could be trouble.
63 mins: The Tractor boys are trying to find a way back into this, but so far the Blues are refusing to budge.
60 mins: Good play Wycombe. Dawkins is a threat once more, skipping past his marker 40 yards from goal before feeding Mousinho. The Mous cracks in a fizzing drive from distance, but it bounces off the outside of the post and out of play.
57 mins: Ipswich work the ball over to the right well, Hyam swings in a cross but the header is high and looping, easily gathered by Young.
54 mins: Yet again Vieira is involved, this time weaving into space inside the box before shooting straight at Supple.
52 mins: Another half chance, Town give the ball away in the centre of the park, Magno takes advantage by dribbling to the edge of the box but sees his shot again easily gathered.
50 mins: More great play from Dawkins, he drives at the heart of the Ipswich backline before slotting in Magno, who can only shoot weakly straight at Supple.
48 mins: Almost a breakthrough for Town. Wickham finds space in the box, but Youngy is out with lightening place to dive at his feet and block. Brave play from the Aussie stopper.
46 mins: We're back underway here at Oak Tree Road, the Chairboys will be looking to seal this victory and consolodate their place in the top three.
HALF TIME WYCOMBE WANDERERS 2-0 IPSWICH TOWN
45 mins: The Wanderers' second string have looked as impressive as I have seen them this season, they have taken a deserved two goal lead over this Championship side. Scott Shulton has been impressive, as has Dawkins.
42 mins: GOAL!! They have got the second, great break away. Vieira did really well to disposes Harding on the half way line, before releashing Shulton. Jaffa did really well to twist inside, and drive a ball into the six yard box. The ball eventually fell to Dawkins, whose deflected effort gave Supple no chance. A goal for the triallist, and I wouldn't say it's undeserved.
38 mins: The Blues look composed when they do have possession, the goal obviously gave them confidence. A second wouldn't be too out the question before the break.
35 mins: More good play. Jamie Young plucks another cross out the air well before immediatly launching play upfield, the ball is eventually worked forward to Mousinho, who whips in a left footed cross. Dawkins takes it down brilliantly first time, but smashes his shot just over the crossbar.
33 mins: Derek Duncan gives away a freekick right by the edge of the box, ball is whipped in but headed behind well by Antwi.
31 mins: Game has hit a bit of a lull, noone can get hold of the ball from either side.
28 mins: Nathan Ashton drives at the heart of the Town defence, but can only drag a poor shot wide from the edge of the box.
26 mins: Don't forget, any questions or crazy comments - just e-mail media@wwfc.com. Once it's past our rigorous censorship process, we might well publish it.
24 mins: Scotty Shulton's devliery has been top notch today. He whips in another good ball, this time Dawkins can't quite connect with a diving header.
22 mins: The Wanderers are very much on top now, putting all sorts of pressure on the Tractor Boys' goal. Shulton whips in a neat ball that eventually finds it's way to Mousinho on the far post, he slams in an effort that just creeps wide.
19 mins: GOAL! The Blues take the lead from a nicely worked set piece. John Mousinho swings in a superb ball the the far post, Will Antwi knocks it across goal and Matt Richards is well positioned to tap home. Lovely stuff.
16 mins: Town with a bit more of the play now, but solid defending from the Blues. Magno Vieira is chasing everything when he has the chance.
13 mins: Good save. Jordan Rhodes finds space on the edge of the area before whipping in a difficult bouncing shot, Young does well to tip it round the post.
11 mins: John Gorman is in the stands tonight, nice to see. He of course is now Assistant Manager at Ipswich Town.
9 mins: Ricey is wearing the captain's armband tonight, nice little honour for him. Still no real chances for either side, they seem to be sizing eachother up.
7 mins: Robbie Rice and Scott Shulton link up well, 'Jaffa', as Shulton is known, is playing in a unfamiliar position on the right wing.
5 mins: Two crosses and two safe catches from Jamie Young in the Wycombe goal so far, solid work.
3 mins: Not a bad crowd, more than a hundred here I would say. No real touch yet for the triallist, Dawkins. Ipswich have the first real effort on goal, but Peters chips well over from Wickham's cut back.
1 mins: We are underway here at Oak Tree Road, early possession for the Blues. I'm told Ipswich Town's number ten, Connor Wickham, is a bit of a 15 year old wonderkind. One for you Football Manager geeks.
