Wycombe Wanderers are delighted to announce their new Charity of the Season as Kids in Sport.
The Blues will work in conjunction with the local charity throughout the club's League One campaign and Kids in Sport will take over from Scannappeal as of 1st August.
Managing Director Steve Hayes told wwfc.com: "Our relationship with Scannappeal is tremendous and I'm sure we will have the same with Kids in Sport. I met Roger (Kids in Sport Trustee) some months ago, where he explained his plans for the future.
"Choosing a charity that is based locally and is based on sport is a perfect fit for us at Wycombe Wanderers.
"Roger is very passionate and enthusiastic, we look forward to working closely with him and helping to develop Kids in Sport at the same time."
Wanderers will support Kids in Sport both financially and socially during the season and will help in the charities aim to offer children the opportunity to enjoy sport on a regular basis in and the surrounding areas of High Wycombe.
The funding Kids in Sport receive will go towards purchasing sports equipment, kit, upgrading or the provision of facilities and transportation to sporting venues.
Trustee Roger Budd told wwfc.com: "For us it's great to be working with Wycombe Wanderers, especially in their promotion season.
"We are a small, local charity who aim to help able and disabled children. We are delighted to work alongside the excellent community scheme at the football club and this can help us progress even further.
"We are also looking forward to holding family fundraising events at Adams Park. The main aim is to put smiles back on the kids' faces."
Roger and wife Pam set up the charity in memory of their son, Julian Budd, who died suddenly at the age of 33 in 2007, and in their first full year of operating Kids in Sport made grants to local schools and two disabled organisations totalling just over 20k.
Events such as the Five-a-side competition at Handycross in June and the Kids in Sport annual Golf Day in September are planned for later in the year as well as a Black Tie Dinner at Adams Park in November.
